Setting up cronjobs

Cron jobs are used to automate regularly recurring processes. They can control at what times of the day and/or on which days of the week specific programs or scripts are executed.

1.  Create a Cron job

To create a new Cron job, log in to your Emubox Control Panel Login.

You will find the «Cron Job Manager» in the dashboard under «Scheduled Tasks»

Click on «+ Add Task» and fill out the following fields:

    • Subscription: Choose the domain where the cron job should be executed.
    • Task Type: Choose your preferred type.
    • Command: The file you want to execute as a cron job must be executable or run by an interpreter.
    • Execute: Choose the execution time
    • Notification: Do not notify, Notify only on error, or Notify every time the cron job is executed.
Emubox Recommendation:  We recommend that, if possible, you choose the start time for your cron job between 01:00 and 05:00 at night, as the server load is lower during these times than during the day or at midnight.

With «Run Now», you can test the new task.

Save the new task with «OK».
