Why do I get an error message during uploading my plug-in or theme?

If an error occurs during the upload or installation of a theme or plugin, please first check the error message displayed. Since WordPress is widely used, searching the internet for the corresponding error message may also help.

Most of the time, these errors are related to the PHP configuration of your web hosting. The theme or plugin developer usually specifies values such as "memory limit" to ensure that the plugin or theme can be uploaded without issues.

You can find the PHP configuration in the Emubox Control Panel under the section "Websites & Domains" > "Dashboard". Then, click the "PHP" button for the corresponding website. A more detailed guide to PHP configuration can be found in this article.

Note:  If you receive an error message in WordPress, we recommend the following PHP changes:
- max_file_upload 128M
- post_max_size 128M
- max_execution_time 300
