In order to avoid data loss, websites can be backed up and restored. To do this, you can use either the WP Toolkit function or the general backup mechanism called Backup Manager.
Creating backups in WP Toolkit may be more convenient than using Backup Manager for the following reasons:
- In WP Toolkit, individual websites can be backed up, while Backup Manager backs up the entire subscription with all the websites and their data.
- If you want to back up a single website, backing up through WP Toolkit is faster and consumes less storage space.
- No setup is required to create backups in WP Toolkit.
To back up a WordPress website:
-
Go to WordPress and then click on Backup/Restore on the card of the WordPress installation you want to back up.

-
Click on Create Backup.
Once the backup is complete, it will appear in the list of WP Toolkit backups.

To restore a WordPress website:
-
Go to WordPress and then click on Backup/Restore on the card of the WordPress installation whose backup you want to restore.
-
Click on
for the backup you want to restore. Please note: Restoring a backup will remove any changes made to the website after the backup date. Therefore, WP Toolkit recommends creating a backup of the current state of your website and using that backup for restoration. -
Click on Restore.
You have restored your backup.
To be on the safe side, you should download the backup files from WP Toolkit and store them elsewhere.
